Epiphanies

Thrusted into a new
Realm of thinking,
A paradigm of which
I am not certain who my
Allies are.
Those who did not know me
Yet changed the lives
Of many.
Snatched mothers and fathers,
Sons and daughters
In exchange for fear.
Some were
driven towards
what they do not
know or why.
Forced to look within,
Reflecting on what I know to be true
But hid from.
Sifting through my heart,
I see that which tries
To avoid my presence.
Staring back and grabbing
Hold, I own it, feel it,
Embrace this until it
Burns my soul.
Dropping it like hot coals,
I can walk away.
empty handed carrying
With me
Nothing,
Nothing but freedom,
Freedom to give
Freedom to take.
To choose what I am
capable of being.
Walking forward, I
Step onto a path.
A path shining with Diamonds.
Cinders burned from within.
they have always been there,
Just waiting.

Tex,

I'm glad I put my hip waders on: deep, but very well done.

I'm not blowing smoke here: you NEED to get this stuff published.

Who knew my adopted sister was so talented? I've voted Republican my whole life, mainly on the abortion issue. You make me think, which is a good thing.

Well done, sis: I'm proud of you.

Tex, this is great stuff. I agree with SotB who posted last night that "all war is pointless" - and that picture expresses it perfectly.

As we get further along in the presidential race, I will look at candidates who actually LEARNED something from the debacle in Iraq, or who didn't vote for it at all. While I can't even contemplate another Republican in the WH, I am pained to say that I also cannot support Hillary either since she continues to be ok with her war vote. How can anyone JUSTIFY what has gone on in Iraq?? What has it accomplished? Who has it served - other than oil companies and war contractors like Halliburton and Blackwater? And the poor kids who will have to live with maimed psyches and limbs for the rest of their time on earth.

Sorry, didn't mean to go off...but you asked for it with that post!

Ted, you REALLY need to think about your children's future when you vote next time, ya hear?? :)

There once was a man from Pawtucket
Who went for a piss in a bucket.

All over his kilt
And the man from Pawtucket said Fuck it.
